Purpose isn't a place. It's the way we choose to work.
Purpose isn't a place. It's the way we choose to work.
People who work with people deserve somewhere safe to think about the realities of their practice.
That belief has shaped my work for many years and is the reason I founded Working With Purpose.
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Social Science (Counselling) in 2005, I have worked alongside people as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions and opportunities. Since 2018, I have specialised in professional external supervision, creating safe, reflective spaces where practitioners can strengthen their professional confidence, navigate the realities of practice and remain well in the work they do.
I believe qualified practitioners already bring knowledge, skills and professional judgement to their work. Supervision is not about having someone tell you what to do. It is about creating space to think, reflect, explore different perspectives and continue growing throughout your career.
Alongside my supervision practice, I contribute to the profession through writing, professional development and my work as a member of the PACFA College of Supervision Leadership Group, where I support the ongoing development of supervision standards and practice as the sector moves toward the introduction of the National Standards for Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

Professional supervision is a dedicated space to slow down and think about the realities of practice.
It is a place to bring client work, ethical questions, professional responsibilities, workplace pressures and the emotional weight that can come with people-focused roles. Supervision gives us room to step back from the immediacy of the work and consider what is happening, what may be shaping our response, and what might be needed next.
My role is not to tell you what to do. It is to support you to think clearly, reflect honestly and strengthen confidence in your own professional judgement.
Working With Purpose offers individual supervision, supervision of supervision and group supervision. Each format creates space for reflective practice, professional learning and thoughtful conversation about the realities of the work.
External supervision can sit alongside internal supervision, workplace support and professional development. It offers another confidential space where you can speak openly, explore different perspectives and remain connected to the practitioner you want to be.
Professional supervision may be a requirement for many counsellors and helping professionals, but it can also become much more than something you attend to meet registration obligations. At its best, supervision supports the practitioner as well as the practice.
Individual supervision sessions are currently $121 including GST. Group supervision is currently $88 including GST. Sessions are available online or by phone, including selected after-hours appointments.
